In this Digital Art class, children try their hand in their favorite character design and storytelling to create their own comic strips while exploring and listening to their own inner voice. They will use traditional pencil and paper and easily accessible digital apps.
This hands-on class combines creative design, art and technology, inspiring children to design their characters and bring them to live through animation tools, a comic strip and a story board, combining traditional art mediums with digital apps and online programs. Along the way, students explore global perspectives through art and practice their social and emotional skills like identity, empathy, communication, and growth mindset, and present their portfolio in front of their peers.
Students will have access to the Google Classroom for materials and instructions for independent work outside of each class. Parents will receive a summary and the list of materials for each class, along with additional resources and ideas to help children continue their learning at home, and updates on the progress of their children. Parents and students will have access to their teacher throughout the session if they need additional help and have questions related to their classes.
